TMF Song Weekend 13-14 March 2026

The festival's inaugural Song Weekend, which took place in March at Westonbirt School, was a great success. Sold-out performances were warmly received by an enthusiastic audience, who embraced the rare opportunity to hear art song at close quarters, in so fine a setting.

The Library of this spectacular neo-Elizabethan house provided an ideal concert space. Its coffered ceiling and gilded joinery looked wonderful in the light reflected from the stage area, and the acoustic proved to be excellent and well suited to both Nick Pritchard's and Sophie Bevan's tenor and soprano voices.

Before the performances and during the interval, the audience was able to gather in the impressive Great Hall, with its open fire and comfortable sofas, to meet and mingle over drinks. After the concerts, students of Westonbirt School had the opportunity to meet the performers — for many, a highlight of the weekend.

We are deeply grateful to all who joined us in this new venture, and look forward to returning to Westonbirt in 2027.
